WASWE competed at the WA State Band Championships on Saturday 7th June under the masterful guidance of our musical director, Ventia Webber.
After a rough, mask-filled start to the year and a few cancelled rehearsals, the band was able to put together a rounded set of music featuring Invocation and Toccata (Barnes), Brighton Beach (Latham), Shadow Falls (Giroux) and Shadows of Eternity (Stone).
The hard work and musicality of WASWE came through at Championships and we were very excited to be awarded 1st Place in the Open B Grade Concert Band division.
